Overview

Newsela is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to empower their team by delivering tech support, optimizing internal platforms, and driving operational efficiency for over 500 employees. This remote role focuses on providing support for IT requests, managing onboarding and offboarding processes, and implementing security guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve IT requests related to access, security, equipment, and internal platforms such as Apple hardware, macOS, and Google Workspace.
• Establish relationships across departments to understand support needs.
• Manage staff onboarding and offboarding in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Implement support models and security guidelines established by the Senior System Administrator.
• Collaborate with operations teams including Legal and Procurement.
• Respond to minor after-hours support requests as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in an IT Support role, supporting global IT operations.
• Deep knowledge of Apple hardware, macOS, Google Workspace, Iru/Kandji, and Slack.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to resolving technical issues.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Customer-first mindset with timely support resolution.
• Experience with scripting and/or automation is a plus but not required.
