Engineering Manager, Bill Pay @Brex

Overview

Brex is an intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and manage finance processes efficiently. The Engineering Manager for Bill Pay will lead the development of Accounts Payable software, bridging product and engineering roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead a full-stack team (7-10 engineers) focused on Accounts Payable software.
• Define the team’s mandate within the Payments group and prioritize investments.
• Set technical and product direction, balancing feature velocity with a solid technical foundation.
• Foster a culture of trust and enablement within the team.
• Collaborate with Design and Product teams to align on project scopes.
• Provide mentorship and career development for engineers.
• Incorporate an AI-forward approach to product development.
• Translate customer feedback into engineering priorities.

Requirements

• Proven engineering leadership in building customer-facing products.
• Strong product sense and ability to make product and UX trade-offs.
• Technical expertise at a staff-engineer level.
• Customer empathy and advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• D demonstrated coaching and mentorship experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years in an engineering management role.

Benefits

The role offers competitive compensation, with a salary range of $240,000 - $285,000. Additional compensation may include equity and benefits associated with the total compensation package.

Location

This is a hybrid position based in the New York office, requiring a minimum of three in-office days per week. Employees are also allowed up to four weeks of fully remote work per year.
