Overview
The Field Application Engineer will work directly with customers to address complex technical challenges in mission-critical, intelligent distributed systems. The role involves engaging with advanced programs across defense and other critical industries, understanding their technical requirements, and assisting teams in adopting RTI’s leading software architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Help teams building advanced defense systems choose their future software architecture.
- Explain RTI technology to executives, architects, program managers, and developers.
- Develop Proof-of-Concept prototypes and demonstrations with prospects.
- Develop sales strategies with your account manager teammate.
- Communicate customer technical requirements to Product Management and engineering.
- Join the active online developer community forum as an RTI and domain expert.
- Communicate RTI’s technology in published technical articles and speaking engagements.
Requirements
- BS or higher in engineering or computer science (MS preferred).
- 5+ years in application-facing technical professional services or sales.
- Experience with one or more of: C/C++/Python/Java/.NET.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of OS and network concepts (UDP, Multicast, etc.).
- Self-motivated sales attitude, comfortable on a team and without day-to-day direction.
- US Citizenship is required due to applicable laws and regulations.

Location
