Forward Deployed Engineer @Render

Overview

Render is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work closely with strategic customers on their cloud platform for AI-native applications. The role involves providing technical partnership and support to top accounts and guiding high-growth startups in onboarding to Render's services.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Render's top accounts as their dedicated technical partner, offering concierge service across architecture reviews and migration planning.
• Run scoped onboarding intensives for high-growth startups, overseeing the entire process from intake to execution.
• Lead database engagements, focusing on Postgres architecture, performance tuning, and data migrations.
• Drive activation and expansion in strategic accounts, turning credit grants into sustained production adoption.
• Maintain ongoing technical relationships, including architecture reviews and incident follow-ups.
• Develop the Forward Deployed Engineer playbook, establishing criteria and engagement templates.
• Act as a feedback channel to product and engineering from customer experiences.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Customer Engineers for smooth handoffs post-engagement.

Requirements

• 8+ years in a customer-facing engineering role, such as forward deployed or solutions engineering.
• Strong software engineering skills with the ability to write production-quality code.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure, including containers, CI/CD, and production workloads.
• Deep knowledge of Postgres and database management.
• Fluency with AI tools and understanding of LLM application architectures.
• Excellent communication skills across various organizational levels.
• Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Commercial awareness of how technical success correlates with business outcomes.
