Manager, Solutions Architecture - East @GitLab

Overview

GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps that helps organizations increase developer productivity and accelerate digital transformation. The role of Manager, Solutions Architecture involves leading a distributed group of Solutions Architects serving Enterprise customers in the East sales territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of intermediate and senior Solutions Architects supporting Enterprise customers in the East territory.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback and skills development.
• Grow and retain a high-performing team by effective hiring and onboarding.
• Guide customer engagements as a Solutions Architect from discovery to adoption of the GitLab platform.
• Ensure quality and consistency of technical evaluations, demos, and proofs of concept.
• Collaborate with sales managers on territory strategy and account planning.
• Work with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to share insights and improve messaging around GitLab's offerings.
• Track key performance indicators and communicate progress, risks, and priorities to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience mentoring and developing technical team members.
• Experience managing technical pre-sales or IT professionals in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to collaborate with managers and cross-functional partners on sales strategies.
• Strong technical presentation and communication skills for engaging stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and modern development practices.
• Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and customer adoption patterns.
• Willingness to travel as needed and openness to learning GitLab tools.
