Overview
Mercury is seeking an Organic Search Marketer (SEO/AEO) to enhance visibility across search and answer engines for their products. This role will involve defining strategies to improve traffic and AI visibility for Mercury, leveraging expertise in SEO and AEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product-level SEO and AI Search strategies, utilizing performance data and audience insights to drive qualified traffic to accounts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement SEO and AEO opportunities across various channels.
- Manage the technical SEO/AEO roadmap and improve website performance and accessibility.
- Develop longitudinal content roadmaps with the Stories team, accommodating trends and business priorities.
- Establish systems and AI workflows to enhance the efficiency of SEO and AEO efforts.
- Optimize evergreen content in collaboration with content partners, maintaining quality and brand standards.
- Identify tools and assets to make Mercury content more useful and shareable.
- Test new strategies to enhance traditional and AI search visibility and traffic.
Requirements
- 5+ years of SEO experience, with 2-3 years in AEO, preferably in a startup environment.
- Strong technical fluency in SEO/AEO and understanding of LLMs.
- Proven track record of independent high-quality work and strategic prioritization.
- Hands-on experience with AI agents and automation tools.
- Data-informed judgment for prioritizing efforts.
Benefits
The total rewards package includes competitive base salary, equity, and benefits. The salary range is:
- For US employees in major metro areas: $128,600 — $160,700 USD
- For US employees outside major metro areas: $115,700 — $144,600 USD
- For Canadian employees: $121,500 — $151,900 CAD
Location
Remote work is available within Canada or the United States, with specified locations including San Francisco, New York, and Portland.
