Overview

This role is for a Privacy Engineer at 1Password, a company focused on building a secure and productive digital future. The Privacy Engineer will work within the Privacy Engineering team to develop technical controls and tooling that protect personal data across products and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Build technical controls and automation for protecting personal data.
• Improve privacy reviews, data handling, retention, and deletion protocols.
• Develop AI-assisted tools for identifying privacy risks.
• Integrate privacy tooling with existing engineering workflows and systems.
• Write production-quality code, tests, and documentation.

Requirements

• Experience in building and shipping software in a SaaS or cloud environment.
• Proficiency in a backend programming language such as Python, TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and AI frameworks.
• Familiarity with privacy and data-handling concepts.
• Ability to manage well-defined projects from implementation to delivery.
• Preferred experience with privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
