Product Security Engineer @WorkOS

Overview

The Product Security Engineer at WorkOS is responsible for securing products used by a diverse range of enterprise clients, focusing on proactive risk management and collaboration with engineering teams. WorkOS is a company focused on providing developer tools and APIs to make businesses Enterprise Ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead secure design efforts by partnering with engineering teams on design and code reviews and identifying risks early in the product lifecycle.
• Build secure by default systems to create pathways that reduce risk and promote secure development.
• Conduct offensive security testing, including penetration tests and code audits from an adversarial perspective.
• Enhance security tooling by integrating and improving static analysis, supply chain security, and vulnerability management.
• Manage the responsible disclosure program by automating processes and coordinating remediation efforts.
• Improve products by writing and shipping code to address vulnerabilities and bolster security posture.
• Engage with customers regarding their security-related questions and concerns to build trust.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering or security-focused software engineering.
• Experience executing on a broad range of security functions including assessments, testing, and tooling integration.
• Familiarity with common industry security tools.
• Demonstrated ability to identify vulnerabilities through CVEs, bug bounties, or related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in code reading and writing, with the ability to leverage AI in security processes.
• Bonus: Experience in authentication and identity sectors, and writing production-level code for security features.
