Software Engineer - Infrastructure Security @WorkOS

Overview

WorkOS is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure Security to join their team. This role focuses on building secure infrastructure and improving the developer experience within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Build workload identity infrastructure, integrating short-lived identity credentials into applications' runtime environments in collaboration with application platform owners.
• Facilitate identity-based authentication for internal services, promoting the use of identity certificates for new applications and overseeing the migration of existing ones.
• Replace static secrets with short-lived identity credentials, creating identity-authenticated egress proxies and API abstractions for external dependencies.
• Unify authorization by developing a centralized framework for managing and enforcing authorization policies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in security-related platforms, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of secrets management, fine-grained authorization, and workload identity systems.
• Familiarity with technologies within the Kubernetes ecosystem, including JWTs, X.509 certificates, PKI, and OPA.
• Experience in building and operating production infrastructure while considering availability and failure modes.
• Proven capability in driving cross-team adoption and leading large-scale migrations.
