Overview
The Elders is currently recruiting a Programme Officer (Cross-Cutting Commitments) to contribute to high-level international policy work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead integration of cross-cutting themes across programmes
- Draft policy papers, reports, and briefing materials
- Monitor and report on decisions and progress related to key commitments
- Conduct horizon-scanning and policy research
- Provide actionable insights to inform strategy and decision-making
- Assist in planning, reporting, and coordination of activities
- Prepare briefing documents for high-level meetings and visits
- Build and manage relationships with institutions
- Identify collaboration opportunities to advance policy goals
- Work with communications teams to amplify messaging
- Contribute to speeches, op-eds, and public-facing materials
Requirements
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in international organizations, NGOs, government, or think tanks
- Strong academic grounding in international relations, politics, or development studies
- Proven experience in policy analysis and writing
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
- Experience engaging with governments, civil society, and multilateral institutions
- Expertise in at least one cross-cutting area (e.g., human rights or gender equality)
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork and coordination abilities
- High adaptability in fast-paced environments
