Public Sector Strategic Account Executive, SLED - Great Lakes @GitLab

Overview

GitLab is looking for a Strategic Account Leader for its Public Sector Team, focusing on helping state and local agencies and higher education institutions utilize GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform for software modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and execute strategic account plans aligning GitLab’s platform with public sector modernization initiatives.
• Navigate complex procurement and contracting processes while shaping multi-year technology roadmaps with clients.
• Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for large public sector prospects and customers.
• Own the book of business, from pipeline development through close and expansion, utilizing a consultative sales approach.
• Collaborate with pre-sales and post-sales engineering, customer success, and support teams for successful implementation.
• Partner with system integrators and resellers to generate leads and co-create solutions for government challenges.
• Conduct ongoing prospecting and opportunity development activities within large and strategic accounts.
• Represent the voice of the customer internally by sharing feedback and product ideas.

Requirements

• Experience selling technology solutions to U.S. State and Local Government and Higher Education institutions.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD automation and secure development practices.
• Understanding of state procurement processes and agency buying cycles.
• Consultative sales approach that aligns technology solutions with public sector needs.
• Ability to manage major accounts independently.
• Skill in collaborating with internal and external teams to drive outcomes.
• Effective communication skills to build consensus among stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
