Overview
The role of Regional Sales Director at GitLab involves leading a high-performing sales organization focused on the Department of War's federal business. The position is responsible for driving revenue growth while managing, coaching, and developing a team of Account Executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, recruit, hire, and coach a team of Account Executives to achieve regional revenue and growth targets.
- Drive strategy and execution for new business and expansion within key DoW accounts.
- Own regional forecasting, opportunity hygiene, and deal qualification methodologies to improve win rates.
- Execute complex federal procurement motions, navigating contracting vehicles and funding cycles.
- Collaborate with Renewals, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and partners to align go-to-market strategies.
- Foster land-and-expand motions within large organizations, focusing on revenue growth and platform adoption.
- Engage in the field to support key customer meetings and enhance executive relationships.
Requirements
- Experience in leading regional sales teams in open source software or related technology environments.
- Background in data-driven sales operations with proficiency in Salesforce or CRM tools.
- Familiarity with compliance-driven environments; experience in FedRAMP is a plus.
- Proven success in selling complex enterprise deals to public sector accounts.
- Understanding of sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC.
- Ability to coach and develop sales talent while promoting an inclusive team culture.
- Skills in managing C-level relationships and conducting executive meetings.
