Key Responsibilities

• Author a daily Axios newsletter that features insights and scoops for the D.C. audience.
• Command the local market and source information to illuminate busy readers.
• Experiment with and leverage AI for reporting and newsletter production.
• Write conversationally in Axios' Smart Brevity style.
• Help build Axios Local and shape the evolution of the product.

Requirements

• Experience covering news in D.C.
• Excellent sources and ability to create new ones.
• Ability to break news and create conceptual scoops.
• Omnivorous curiosity about your hometown.
• Comfort flexing some voice and personality in writing.
• Proven experience working in a fast-paced news environment and on deadline.
• A desire to be indispensable to local readers and Axios Local.
