Overview
Global Energy Monitor is recruiting two full-time Researchers to join its Global Energy Ownership Tracker team. This is a remote position focused on advancing global transparency in energy infrastructure ownership and supporting climate accountability research.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting, validating, and maintaining energy ownership data in structured databases
- Creating and updating wiki-based project pages on the GEM platform
- Tracking environmental and social impacts associated with energy projects
- Collaborating with internal research teams across different tracker initiatives
- Supporting the development of reports, analyses, and presentations
- Using digital tools such as spreadsheets, databases, and content management systems
- Assisting with additional research tasks across related climate projects
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in energy, environmental, or industrial decarbonization research
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of energy systems, industrial emissions, and environmental impacts
- Understanding of corporate structures, governance systems, and global energy markets
- Familiarity with energy transition and decarbonization challenges
- Strong research and fact-checking skills
- Experience in data analysis and summarization
- Professional writing and reporting abilities
