Overview

Figma is expanding its team with a mission to make design accessible to all. The Security Scientist role focuses on data analysis to enhance the safety and security of Figma's product and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the company to address security and anti-abuse issues with engineering, product, and data science teams.
• Analyze attacker and user behavior to inform strategy and decision-making.
• Build detections and improve signal quality across Figma's products.
• Support security investigations by developing datasets and analysis.
• Translate threat intelligence into actionable detection coverage and security strategies.
• Conduct investigations and design reviews to identify attack vectors.
• Advocate for secure practices throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Understanding of security, anti-abuse challenges, and detection/response.
• Fluency in SQL and proficiency in Python, R, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems and frameworks like Hive, Redshift, or Spark.
• Knowledge of statistical methods and experimental design.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
