Overview

The Senior Application Engineer role at Mozilla is part of the IT Function within the Infrastructure team. The position involves designing, building, and maintaining systems and automations that enhance Mozilla's workplace technologies, supporting a safe and secure internet.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scripts, APIs, and workflow automations for workplace systems like collaboration tools and identity platforms.
• Develop integrations that connect collaboration tools and internal systems to improve user experience.
• Implement monitoring and logging for automation and AI workflows; troubleshoot and improve reliability and efficiency.
• Contribute to secure onboarding and off-boarding processes with automation.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, and People teams to integrate identity, data, and compliance standards.
• Participate in pilot projects for new AI capabilities and assist in building user-supportive workflows.
• Assist in code reviews and documentation of shared libraries for workflows and integrations.
• Partner with senior engineers to modernize workplace systems with scalable architectures and intelligent workflows.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in software engineering or workplace technology development, focusing on automation or scripting.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Java, Go, Python, JavaScript/Apps Script, Bash, PowerShell) and familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian) and a desire to work with AI workflows.
• Basic understanding of IAM/SSO (Okta, SAML/OIDC/SCIM) and experience in automating provisioning/access.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills; ability to collaborate with non-technical partners.
• A growth mindset and a commitment to learning new AI technologies and improving user experience.
• Interest in building agentic flows for workplace systems responsibly.
