Overview
The Senior Application Engineer role is part of Mozilla's IT Function within the Infrastructure team. This hands-on position focuses on building and maintaining workplace technologies, such as collaboration and AI productivity tools, while enhancing user experience and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scripts, APIs, and workflow automations for workplace systems like Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian.
- Develop lightweight services or integrations that enhance collaboration and automate user workflows.
- Implement monitoring and troubleshooting for automation and AI workflows to improve reliability and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with various teams to embed identity and compliance standards through automation.
- Participate in pilot projects for new AI capabilities and contribute to documentation and code reviews.
- Partner with senior engineers to modernize workplace systems with scalable architecture and intelligent workflows.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in software engineering or workplace technology development, particularly in automation or scripting.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with SaaS platforms and interest in AI workflows.
- Understanding of IAM/SSO principles and automation of access provisioning.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
