Key Responsibilities

• Identify sources of friction in GitLab's software development lifecycle and propose agentic solutions.
• Design and build reliable AI-powered systems to standardize workflows and improve error handling.

• Work across GitLab's codebase to address friction points effectively.
• Apply distributed systems knowledge to detect potential code issues in varying deployment contexts.

Requirements

• Experience building large language model-based systems and ensuring their reliability in production environments.
• Ability to work autonomously in new codebases and drive solutions to completion.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, including key concepts like consistency and failure modes.
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python, with the ability to modify code in multiple languages.
• Experience with shipping autonomous agents and improving software development processes is a plus.
