Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Build and define cloud security posture and enable cyber resilience.
• Understand Governance, Risk and Compliance in relation to cloud engineering.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to enhance the reliability and security of cloud infrastructure.
• Automate cloud security controls to minimize threats and vulnerabilities.
• Shape Mercury's AWS cloud architecture for resilience, least privilege, and maintainability.
• Address remote access challenges in a remote-first environment.
• Collaborate with teams to address security concerns within the cloud.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud security, networking, or information security.
• Desire to learn and a proven record of growth.
• Familiarity with standard security frameworks and privacy regulations (NIST CSF, FFIEC, SOX, SOC2, GLBA, ISO27018, PCI-DSS).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with calmness under pressure.
• Fundamental understanding of security practices and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with information as code (IaC) tooling.
• AWS certifications are encouraged.
