Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the CTO and engineering leaders to shape engineering strategy and technical direction.
• Develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders while fostering a healthy team culture.
• Strengthen planning, delivery, quality, and reliability, enabling quicker decision-making and product development.
• Collaborate with product, design, newsroom, and business leaders to align technical plans with priorities.
• Maintain architecture and reliability standards while balancing technical trade-offs.
• Establish operational standards and practices for engineering teams.
• Lead vendor evaluation for engineering tools, platforms, and services.
• Help define modern engineering leadership in an AI-native media context.

Requirements

• Proven experience in leading and developing engineering teams, with a focus on accountability and performance management.
• Experience leveraging AI to enhance software development and operational processes.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both executives and technical teams.
• Strong understanding of high-traffic digital products and underlying platforms.
• Vision for the impact of AI and technology on engineering practices and workflows.

Salary
