Overview

GitLab is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join their GTM Engineering team. This role involves designing and building backend systems and services that support go-to-market and growth platforms, while also contributing across the stack as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support GTM and growth platforms.
• Contribute across the stack, including frontend work as needed.
• Determine the technical direction for the systems managed, evaluating trade-offs between speed and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, or reliability issues in backend systems.
• Review code and designs from other engineers, providing feedback and mentorship.
• Document system design decisions and backend architecture for team transparency.

Requirements

• Proven experience with backend systems in production.
• Strong fullstack technical skills, particularly in Vue, Node, Go, and Ruby.
• Experience in backend service design including API design and database performance.
• Ability to make independent technical trade-offs.
• Strong written communication skills for technical documentation.
• Collaborative mindset with experience from adjacent engineering fields.

Nice to Have

• Experience in marketing, growth, or GTM engineering contexts.
• Familiarity with remote-first or distributed organizations.
• Experience mentoring and influencing technical direction.
