Overview
GitLab is an orchestration platform for DevSecOps, focused on enhancing developer productivity, operational efficiency, and security in software delivery. The Senior Manager of the Security Posture Management (SPM) team will lead efforts to secure GitLab's software factory and drive company-wide adoption of security capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the rollout of GitLab's security capabilities across projects, ensuring alignment with Project Security Configuration Standards.
- Establish security baselines that promote efficient engineering practices.
- Act as Customer Zero for GitLab's security features, providing feedback to Product and Engineering.
- Create a first-class capability in software supply chain security.
- Manage the Product Security Risk Register and relevant metrics.
- Collaborate with Compliance for audit and certification processes.
- Provide thought leadership on GitLab's security practices.
- Develop and mentor the team as it grows.
Requirements
- Experience in managing a security or engineering team.
- Technical understanding of security posture management and software supply chain security.
- Proven ability to implement security capability in an engineering organization.
- Experience in translating security requirements into actionable controls.
- Familiarity with producing control evidence for audits.
- Ability to drive impact in ambiguous situations.
- Strong communication skills in an all-remote environment.
