Overview

As the Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture - ANZ at GitLab, the role involves managing a distributed team of Solutions Architects across Australia and New Zealand. This player-coach position focuses on guiding technical strategy in complex sales scenarios while helping to secure technical wins and foster customer confidence in GitLab's platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of intermediate and senior Solutions Architects, setting direction and enabling high-quality execution.
• Act as a player-coach by partnering on strategic opportunities and coaching the team through complex sales cycles.
• Guide regional strategy for technical evaluations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global Solutions Architecture, Sales, Channel, Marketing, and Product Management.
• Maintain operational discipline in workload planning, resource allocation, and opportunity forecasting.
• Define and track key performance indicators for the team, communicating progress and priorities effectively.
• Hire, develop, and retain high-performing Solutions Architects to build a scalable regional organization.

Requirements

• Experience managing technical teams in software or technology sales, with direct experience in the Australia & New Zealand market.
• Strong background in solution architecture or comparable practical experience.
• Proven experience developing, mentoring, and scaling technical organizations.
• Strong communication and technical presentation skills.
• Demonstrated business acumen and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience building high-performing teams in a distributed or remote environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
