Senior Mobile Engineer, Kotlin and Cross-Platform @Hiya

Overview

The Senior Mobile Engineer at Hiya is responsible for designing, building, and shipping features for the Spam Blocker product across iOS and Android platforms. The role involves collaborating within a small, agile team to enhance mobile experiences leveraging Kotlin and other technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features across the iOS and Android apps, including necessary backend changes.
• Own releases from cut to store on both platforms, enhancing release automation.
• Develop tests, instrumentation, and review gates to ensure high quality without manual QA intervention.
• Drive architecture decisions on mobile codebases and ensure adoption.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to determine what to build.
• Leverage AI coding agents where appropriate and improve shipping processes.

Requirements

• Demonstrated Kotlin Multiplatform experience in production applications.
• Production code experience outside the primary platform in the last two years, preferably on iOS or backend.
• Experience leading significant architecture or platform changes through a mobile team.
• Familiarity with APIs, entitlements, and analytics for mobile features.
• Experience with automation and device testing.
• Active use of AI coding agents and clear communication skills.
• Ability to make pragmatic judgments between speed and quality.

Location
