    Overview

    The Senior Product Manager will own GitLab's Secret Detection offering and the Vulnerability Research function, focusing on detecting credentials and producing detection content for security products. This role is critical as leaked credentials often lead to breaches.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own business outcomes for Secret Detection and Vulnerability Research, including adoption and revenue contribution.
    • Set the strategy for the secret lifecycle across various GitLab platforms.
    • Treat detection content as a product, ensuring quality and source validation.
    • Ensure detection quality and manage metrics that prove precision improvement.
    • Engage with technology at a detailed level to improve detection logic.
    • Utilize AI in product development, including triage and rule generation.
    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams through written documentation.

    Requirements

    • Experience in application security, vulnerability management, or security research.
    • Technical credibility with security engineering teams.
    • Strong commercial reasoning and understanding of revenue mechanics.
    • Experience using AI as a significant part of work processes.
    • Ability to manage ambiguity and provide clear structured recommendations.
    • Bonus: Hands-on experience as a developer, security engineer, or researcher.
