Mercury is building a full stack of financial tools for startups. The role of Senior Product Partnerships Manager on the Expansion team involves managing strategic partnerships with a focus on Mercury's payroll vendor ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of expansion partnerships end-to-end, focusing on payroll vendors.
- Lead vendor selection processes, evaluating RFPs and recommending suitable partners.
- Negotiate contracts and evaluate deal economics, ensuring beneficial outcomes for Mercury.
- Serve as an internal expert on the payroll vendor ecosystem, maintaining a knowledge base.
- Proactively manage partner performance and address incidents and integration issues.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions across product, legal, finance, and engineering.
Requirements
- 8+ years of strategic partnerships experience, including contract negotiation.
- Experience managing or working closely with payroll products.
- Strong partnership leader with excellent communication and project management skills.
- Empathetic and able to navigate regulated environments.
- Strong product sense with an interest in financial infrastructure.
- Effective negotiator with experience in complex commercial discussions.
- Technical inclination for interfacing with engineering and compliance teams.
- Able to manage multiple critical initiatives concurrently.
- Creative problem-solver operating within constraints.

The total rewards package at Mercury includes competitive base salary, equity (stock options/RSUs), and benefits.
- Base salary for US employees in major cities: $180,900 — $226,100 USD.
- Base salary for US employees outside major cities: $162,800 — $203,500 USD.
