Overview
GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, enabling organizations to increase developer productivity and accelerate digital transformation. The Senior Program Manager role involves leading complex, cross-functional technology programs within the Enterprise Technology & AI organization, requiring both technical and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end program management for large Enterprise Technology, AI & Data initiatives, including scope definition, roadmap development, and change management.
- Lead enterprise applications and operational transformation programs to improve business processes.
- Partner with stakeholders to clarify goals, define success metrics, and translate strategy into actionable plans.
- Drive operating rhythms including status reporting, milestone reviews, and executive communications.
- Identify program risks and gaps early; recommend options and drive decisions with stakeholders.
- Strengthen governance, documentation, planning practices, and cross-functional collaboration for program delivery.
- Support the adoption of AI-enabled workflows and automation for enhancing productivity.
- Contribute to a high-trust, async-first culture by modeling GitLab values and effective remote collaboration.
Requirements
- 7+ years of program management experience with a track record in Enterprise Technology, AI & Data programs.
- Ability to simplify complex processes and build structured approaches to ambiguous problems.
- Experience influencing without authority and earning trust with senior stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting to leadership and executive audiences.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Tech domains such as AI, security, and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in program and project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, etc.); certifications such as PMP or CSM are a plus.
- Experience in a remote, globally distributed environment emphasizing async collaboration.
