Senior Risk & Compliance Engineer - Data @Instacart

Overview

The Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team is focused on creating an automated, engineering-grade risk program with real-time risk scoring and quantified exposure models.

Key Responsibilities

• Build automated signal ingestion pipelines that pull real-time data from security tooling, normalizing and enriching findings into actionable risk intelligence.
• Develop probabilistic risk models that provide a quantified view of breach likelihood and expected losses, linking to investment decisions and board-level reporting.
• Identify systemic choke points across the attack surface and prioritize remediation paths based on expected impact.
• Build dashboards and insights that enhance risk visibility across various stakeholders, translating complex outputs into accessible language.
• Support risk quantification efforts that connect security exposure to financial terms informing decisions and reporting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with expertise in Python and SQL (PostgreSQL, Presto, or SparkSQL).
• 3+ years of experience in building and deploying machine learning or probabilistic models in production.
• Experience in building data pipelines that handle real-time data and batch processing at scale.
• Experience with data modeling for anomaly detection and risk signal development.
• Experience in developing metrics for security and business decisions.
