Overview

The role of Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Affirm focuses on ensuring operational excellence for applications through effective frameworks and best practices. The team is responsible for enhancing application performance and supporting the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team.
• Support peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Identify technical solutions that enhance incident readiness and analysis.
• Create and monitor metrics to ensure operations and availability of team artifacts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership through improved code review and design standards.
• Provide feedback and guidance to develop talent on the team.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing and launching backend systems using scripting and development languages like Bash, Python, or Kotlin.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems utilizing technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Involvement in the Incident Lifecycle process, driving actionable insights for system performance.
• 4+ years in a Site Reliability or Production Engineering role.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
• Proven track record of delivering significant features with elegant design and maintainable code.
