Senior Software Engineer (Backend) - AI/ML @ClickHouse

Overview

The AI/ML Engineering team at ClickHouse is responsible for building and operating the company's AI and machine learning products. They are looking for skilled software engineers to design, build, and operate AI-powered features that enhance ClickHouse's platform for data scientists.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-powered features across the full stack, from backend to frontend within ClickHouse Cloud.
• Create robust, scalable APIs connecting ClickHouse’s database with AI/ML inference systems.
• Implement and maintain integrations with the AI/ML ecosystem and standards.
• Integrate models into production with monitoring, versioning, and evaluation.
• Participate in the daytime oncall rotation with the team.
• Design and implement developer tools and documentation for ClickHouse’s AI/ML capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies.
• Backend development experience in TypeScript or Python, focusing on API design.
• Ability to drive features from concept to production with minimal supervision.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience deploying AI/ML models and working with inference APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines, with ClickHouse experience being a plus.
