Overview

The role involves joining the Post-Purchase International team at Affirm, focused on expanding their product offerings in international markets. The Senior Software Engineer will build the foundational platform and customer experiences needed to enhance the post-purchase journey for customers around the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, leading engineers through problem-solving.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Identify and advocate for solutions to project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Create and monitor metrics for team artifacts; support on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality by improving code review and design standards.
• Occasionally contribute to full-stack development, including front-end components.
• Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance within the team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in designing and developing backend systems using languages such as Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems utilizing AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Willingness to work on front-end code.
• Ability to define a technical plan for significant features or components.
• Experience making significant changes in a large code base safely.
• Strong ownership of personal growth with proactive feedback seeking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration.
