Brex is an intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster. The position is for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend within the Product Engineering team, focusing on developing new products from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers across the company to build new features and products end-to-end.
• Work alongside user-facing teams to understand customer needs.
• Design and implement solutions to improve customers' banking experiences.
• Own problems end-to-end, from user experience and data models to scalability and operability.
• Tune and polish features to a high degree of excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying applications with a focus on backend.
• Experience building and designing scalable backend systems.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python.
• Familiarity with software engineering development cycles.
• Ability to uphold high standards for yourself and the team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this role is $192,000 - $240,000, depending on factors including location, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity and other forms of benefits.

Location

This role is based in New York in a hybrid environment, requiring a minimum of three in-office days per week, with up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.
