Overview

Brex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to join its Product Engineering team. The role focuses on developing customer-facing products that impact business outcomes while working in a collaborative hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to build new features and products from end-to-end.
• Work alongside user-facing teams, such as Sales and Support, to understand customer needs.
• Design and implement solutions to enhance customers' banking experiences.
• Own problems end-to-end, including user experience, data models, scalability, operability, and ongoing metrics.
• Tune and polish features to meet high standards of excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying applications with a backend focus.
• Experience building scalable backend systems.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python.
• Knowledge of software engineering development cycles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain high standards for both yourself and the team.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this role is $192,000 - $240,000, with starting base pay dependent on factors such as location, skills, experience, and market demands. Total compensation may include equity and additional compensation forms.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, California, requiring at least three coordinated days in the office each week, with opportunities for remote work.
