Senior Software Engineer - Clickpipes (CDC/Streaming) @ClickHouse

Overview

The role involves working as a Senior Software Engineer on the ClickPipes - Database Integrations team at ClickHouse. This team builds a platform for real-time data replication from various databases into ClickHouse at scale, tackling complex database-related challenges and distributed systems problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Build data-intensive systems by designing and developing high-throughput integrations with databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB), data lakes (Iceberg, Delta Lake), and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Handle production scenarios such as unconventional database setups, data types, database upgrades, and large transactions.
• Ensure end-to-end reliability of integrations while debugging complex issues in production.
• Build and improve infrastructure to increase system reliability and document processes clearly.
• Drive product innovation through customer engagement and collaboration with internal teams to identify gaps and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience building data-intensive software solutions.
• Proficient in Go or systems programming with a willingness to learn Go.
• Experience deploying and operating services on at least one major cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Practical experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong production debugging skills and problem-solving ability.
• Effective communication in writing and verbally, particularly in technical discussions.
