Senior Software Engineer - Clickpipes (CDC/Streaming) @ClickHouse

Overview

The Senior Software Engineer role at ClickHouse involves building data-intensive systems and ensuring the reliability of integrations with various databases and data platforms. You will be part of the ClickPipes - Database Integrations team, focusing on real-time data replication and addressing complex database-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-throughput integrations with databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB), data lakes (Iceberg, Delta Lake), and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Handle edge cases in real-world production scenarios, including unconventional database setups and large transactions.
• Own end-to-end reliability by debugging complex issues in production and improving infrastructure.
• Write clear documentation and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Work directly with customers to understand integration requirements and drive product innovation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational efficiency and influence product roadmaps.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience building data-intensive software solutions.
• Proficient in Go or willing to ramp up quickly in Go.
• Cloud-native experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and strong production debugging skills.
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with database replication technologies and durable execution frameworks is a plus.
• Familiarity with data formats and protocols (e.g. Avro, Parquet, Protobuf) and modern data processing frameworks (e.g. Kafka, Spark, Flink) is advantageous.
