Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement software solutions to optimize and scale the Instacart platform.
• Develop highly scalable software using strong software engineering principles.
• Analyze and optimize expensive SQL queries.
• Enable data-driven features that adapt to customer shopping behavior.
• Lead strategic planning and execution of development projects from inception to deployment.
• Implement high quality solutions for engaging shopping experiences across web and mobile platforms.
• Conduct ongoing testing, performance analysis, and troubleshooting of systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
• 5 years of experience in a software engineering role.
• 5 years of experience with Java, Ruby, Python, or similar programming languages.
• 5 years of experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems.
• 5 years of experience with API query technologies, such as GraphQL.
• 2 years of experience with machine learning model development.
• 2 years of experience with client/server architectures and application architectures.
• 2 years of experience working with large codebases on cross-functional teams.
