Overview

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by delivering essential services that customers rely on. The company seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join its Agentic Analytics Platform team, responsible for integrating AI into data interactions at Instacart.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build LLM-powered systems for data practitioners, enhancing natural-language data access and AI-assisted tools.
• Contribute to building end-to-end systems and develop retrieval workflows and product surfaces for internal users.
• Drive new initiatives and influence the roadmap while collaborating with engineers and various data teams.
• Maintain high engineering standards in applied AI, covering evaluations, observability, and safety.

Requirements

• Self-motivated with experience in a startup environment.
• Strong backend engineering skills in Python, with practical experience in production services.
• Hands-on experience with applied LLM systems and relevant technologies.
• Working knowledge of data infrastructure technologies, SQL, and experience with large codebases in cross-functional teams.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
