Overview

Juniper Square is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Platform team. This role involves designing, building, and operating production systems that power core workflows for institutional financial clients, utilizing advanced AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production-quality systems, APIs, and services.
• Own projects from translation of requirements into technical designs to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing iteration.
• Build reliable, scalable, and observable systems that deliver value to customers.
• Monitor and maintain production health of systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Improve engineering velocity and operational quality through automation and continuous improvements.
• Contribute to technical design and help identify and reduce technical debt.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and QA teams.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the workflow, ensuring quality of AI-generated code.
• Grow into a subject-matter expert in the domain.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in backend and/or full-stack software engineering.
• Strong backend engineering experience with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid, or Django.
• Experience with relational/NoSQL databases and cloud-native technologies like AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and operating services in production.
• Ability to break down complex technical problems and deliver maintainable solutions.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native development tools and demonstrated AI fluency.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments.
