Overview

Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Identity Decisioning team, focusing on building backend systems to validate consumer identity across all products. The role involves collaborating with various teams to deliver clear and transparent financial products.

Key Responsibilities

• Break down larger projects into individual tasks and collaborate with the team to ensure timely delivery.
• Engage in the product development lifecycle, collaborating with product management, design, and analytics.
• Create and monitor metrics to support operations and availability of team artifacts.
• Participate in growth and development activities, including the interview process.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proficient in either Python or Kotlin, with experience in designing and launching backend systems.
• Familiarity with distributed systems technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to solve problems by writing clear and extensible code.
• Experience debugging code and participating in code reviews.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
