Software Engineer - Infrastructure @Mercury

Overview

The Infrastructure team at Mercury is seeking a Software Engineer to help build a scalable, secure, and maintainable infrastructure platform. This role focuses on enabling engineers and agents to deploy code effortlessly while ensuring security and observability.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the “Infrastructure Platform” to support the Engineering Organization's needs.
• Develop a platform that is friendly to both AI agents and human users.
• Deliver key infrastructure projects, break down complex initiatives, and define infrastructure strategy through detailed RFCs and technical specifications.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with AWS.
• Strong interest in cloud-native open source technologies and experience contributing to them.
• Knowledge of low-level operating system foundations (Linux, file systems, containers).
• At least 2 years of experience in technical writing, including creating detailed technical documentation, RFCs, and technical specifications.
• Experience operating in regulated environments (e.g., HITRUST, SOC2) is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working with large Terraform environments.
• 2+ years of coding experience to support the Infrastructure Platform development.
• Willingness to learn and tackle complex problems.
