Overview

The Southern Voice is seeking a Research Officer to support its mission of amplifying Global South perspectives in shaping development policy and advancing progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is a fully remote role for a motivated research professional.

Key Responsibilities

Develop timely, policy-relevant research aligned with organizational priorities.
Produce high-quality outputs such as concept notes, literature reviews, research briefs, and analytical reports.
Support the design and execution of research initiatives and proposals.
Manage day-to-day implementation of multi-country research projects.
Coordinate publication processes, including peer review, editing, and dissemination.
Organize workshops, meetings, and knowledge-sharing events.
Ensure consistent communication with stakeholders to maintain quality and timelines.
Contribute to donor reports and internal documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or related disciplines.
Minimum of three years’ experience in applied research within think tanks, NGOs, research institutions, or international organizations.
Proven ability to manage research projects or multi-country initiatives.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
Experience working with Global South institutions or networks is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Familiarity with coordination tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack).
Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with team objectives.
