Overview

Brex is seeking a Staff Brand Designer to join its Design team, a cross-disciplinary group of creatives dedicated to building a category-defining brand. The role involves driving the evolution of Brex's brand identity system while ensuring cohesion across all touch points.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Brex’s brand identity system, including visual language, typography, color, illustration, and brand patterns.
• Define and maintain brand standards that balance consistency with creative flexibility.
• Translate company strategy and brand vision into compelling visual direction.
• Design and deliver new brand expressions that advance identity while preserving recognition.
• Lead high-impact brand work, including special campaigns and product launches.
• Art direct and contribute to brand campaigns, collaborating with partners and internal teams.
• Provide guidance and feedback to enhance brand execution quality across the organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in brand design or art direction, focusing on identity systems.
• A portfolio showcasing strategic thinking and high-quality execution.
• Expertise in typography, color, composition, and scalable visual systems.
• Strong communication skills for articulating design decisions.
• Experience in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Practical experience using AI tools in the creative process.

Benefits

Brex provides a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of three days in the office per week, along with up to four weeks of fully remote work per year. Compensation includes an expected salary range of $187,000 - $234,000 based on various factors.

Location

This role is based in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York, and operates in a hybrid environment.
