Staff Fullstack Engineer - Data Products @GitLab

Overview

The Staff Fullstack Engineer - Data Products at GitLab will focus on building in-product insights using the Data Insights Platform and the GitLab Knowledge Graph. This role involves being the technical anchor across various components including reporting dashboards and data delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecting the ingestion, modeling, and synchronization of GitLab and third-party data into the Knowledge Graph.
• Coordinating integration with external systems such as Jira and Zendesk.
• Designing the Data Marketplace for customer consumption of GitLab data.
• Publishing observability data and supporting APIs used for data access.
• Defining operational readiness for the deployed systems.
• Translating product problems into technical plans and roadmaps.
• Managing cross-team coordination to ensure delivery progresses.
• Mentoring senior and intermediate engineers.

Requirements

• Experience owning product or platform systems at the staff level.
• Strong fullstack skills with proficiency in Go, Ruby, and Node.
• Depth in areas such as reporting platforms or data integrations.
• Hands-on experience with data ingestion and systems integration.
• Experience operating multi-tenant systems.
• Strong judgment in ambiguity and ability to create clarity.
• Clear written communication skills.
• A proactive approach to collaboration.
