Overview

1Password is seeking a Staff Security Engineer for its Security Incident Response team. The role focuses on evolving incident response capabilities, leading complex incidents, and designing AI-assisted systems, contributing to the digital safety of millions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as incident manager for high-severity security events, providing structure and decision-making under pressure.
• Design and implement AI-assisted systems for incident triage, investigation, and containment.
• Establish safety controls and auditability for automated actions.
• Lead readiness programs including tabletop exercises and incident gamedays.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineers.
• Partner with teams to improve investigative processes and response capabilities.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing complex security incidents and serving as a technical lead.
• Experience with AI-assisted automation for security operations.
• Strong software engineering skills and experience building production tooling.
• Experience owning and delivering security program roadmaps.
• Understanding of cloud-native and identity-driven attack techniques.
• Strong communication skills for technical discussions with stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring engineers to enhance team capabilities.
