    Overview

    Lyft is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join the Global Support & Partnerships team. This team focuses on developing integration platforms that enhance customer care experiences and support Lyft's international growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set the technical vision and strategy for a rapidly evolving product area, making high-judgment calls on architecture and technology direction.
    • Drive the adoption of AI and machine learning solutions to optimize customer support workflows.
    • Lead a team of engineers, maintaining a high standard for technical excellence.
    • Translate high-level business goals into actionable engineering projects and manage the technical roadmap.
    • Champion improvements in system observability, performance, and tech debt reduction.
    • Establish best practices for deployment and on-call health, ensuring platform stability.
    • Drive alignment across product, design, and operations, resolving bottlenecks as they arise.
    • Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.

    Requirements

    • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
    • Experience setting technical direction for product areas and driving alignment with stakeholders.
    • Proficient in designing and operating distributed systems, including microservices and high-throughput APIs.
    • Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C#.
    • Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
    • Proven ability to lead and influence engineering teams.
    • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical strategies clearly.
