Staff Technical Program Manager, Engineering Onboarding @Affirm

Overview

Affirm is looking for a collaborative Staff Technical Program Manager, Engineering Onboarding to build an AI-first onboarding experience for new engineers, helping them become confident, effective builders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of Engineering onboarding, creating a welcoming experience for new engineers across North America and EMEA.
• Lead hands-on learning experiences at the San Francisco office, along with virtual and regional programming.
• Partner with Engineering leaders and subject-matter experts to build and maintain technical onboarding content.
• Translate Affirm’s AI-first engineering practices into practical learning experiences.
• Work with managers and buddies to create onboarding plans that help new engineers establish context and connect with their teams.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure support for onboarding cohorts.
• Gather feedback from new hires and facilitators to continuously improve the onboarding experience.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a technical leader in a software engineering organization.
• Understanding of modern software development practices including AI-assisted development and deployment processes.
• Experience improving engineering workflows or programs through thoughtful design and execution.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear plans.
• Strong technical judgment and trust-building capabilities with Engineering Managers.
• Ability to influence and align partners across various teams.
• Strong communication skills and passion for creating inclusive learning environments.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
