Technical Accounting Senior Manager @Fivetran

Overview

The role involves being a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Senior Manager at Fivetran, which is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for various companies. The individual will support complex accounting matters and contribute to a strong internal control and reporting environment in a fast-growing SaaS company.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and document technical accounting issues and memos; prepare calculations for external audit reviews in accordance with US GAAP.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures and lead implementation of changes.
• Manage external valuation specialists for accurate transaction valuations.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure technical guidance is operationalized.
• Support initiatives to enhance external reporting readiness, including disclosures and process improvements.
• Design and implement SOX-compliant accounting processes and internal controls.
• Partner with external auditors for timely and accurate conclusions on accounting matters.
• Provide training and mentorship on technical accounting topics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license required.
• 7+ years of experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or corporate accounting in a SaaS or high-growth technology company.
• Demonstrated technical accounting expertise with experience drafting memos on complex transactions.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (Netsuite and Workiva preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in Oakland, California, requiring two days in the office each week.
