Overview
Brex is looking for an Underwriting Senior Analyst to ensure smooth and efficient underwriting processes for its cards products. The role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to implement improvements and collaborate with various teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the credit quality of business credit card customers' ability to repay.
- Review bank statements and financial statements to underwrite Brex customers.
- Handle intermediate-level underwriting escalations requiring deeper investigation into applicant financials.
- Identify and recommend improvements to existing underwriting processes.
- Track and communicate key underwriting metrics (e.g., approval rates, turnaround time) to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners across Risk, Sales, Engineering, and Product.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in underwriting and assist with team development.
- Contribute to team learning and documentation through mentorship and collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in underwriting, credit risk, financial analysis, or related fields.
- Understanding of GAAP/IFRS standards and financial statement analysis.
- Familiarity with quantitative credit risk models and concepts.
- Proficient with Google Sheets, Excel, and BI tools for data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
