    Overview

    Brex is seeking an Underwriting Senior Analyst to ensure the efficiency of the underwriting processes for its card products. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to organizational goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assess the credit quality of business credit card customers' ability to repay.
    • Review bank and financial statements to underwrite Brex customers.
    • Handle intermediate-level underwriting escalations requiring deeper investigation.
    • Proactively identify and recommend improvements to existing underwriting processes.
    • Track and communicate key underwriting metrics to stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain relationships across Risk, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in underwriting, helping to mentor and support others.
    • Contribute to team learning and success by sharing knowledge and aiding in documentation.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
    • 1+ years of experience in underwriting, credit risk, financial analysis, or related fields.
    • Passion for credit and underwriting decisions on commercial exposures.
    • Understanding of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and financial statement analysis.
    • Familiarity with quantitative credit risk models and default concepts.
    • Proficiency with Google Sheets, Excel, and BI tools for data analysis.
    • Familiarity with underwriting and credit tooling for resolving escalations.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Customer-centric mindset with strong communication skills.

    Benefits

    The compensation range for this role is $65,600 - $82,000 USD. The starting salary will vary based on location, skills, experience, and other factors. Equity and additional compensation may be included as part of the package.

    Location

    This role is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, in a hybrid environment requiring a minimum of three days in the office per week.
