    Overview

    The Compliance Manager (Data Protection Officer, Regulatory Compliance & Privacy) at Affirm will support the UK Compliance function by leading regulatory compliance and privacy oversight activities. This role includes managing UK privacy compliance and DPO responsibilities while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure a robust compliance framework.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary operational lead for UK privacy compliance and act as the designated Data Protection Officer.
    • Oversee key UK privacy governance activities, including Data Protection Impact assessments, privacy risk assessments, incident and breach governance, and data subject rights processes.
    • Lead the regulatory input of the firm's Management Information dashboard for Privacy.
    • Develop the firm's Privacy Compliance Monitoring Programme.
    • Support the completion of the firm's enterprise-wide compliance risk assessment and control inventory.
    • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into compliance standards for stakeholders.
    • Provide oversight of first-line control environments and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare management reporting and governance materials for senior leadership.

    Requirements

    • 6+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, privacy compliance, risk management, governance, or audit, preferably in financial services or a regulated environment.
    • Strong understanding of UK privacy regulations, including UK GDPR.
    • Experience operating within a second-line defence model.
    • Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into policies and standards.
    • Experience supporting audits and regulatory exams.
    • Strong cross-functional partnership skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications preferred.
